Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Anyway is building the financial OS for agents. The product is growing fast, and so are the engineering challenges. We’re looking for a senior backend engineer who can own core modules end-to-end — designing, building, and scaling the systems that power our payment infrastructure.

You’ll work directly with a small, senior engineering team and have real input into technical decisions. This is a hands-on role where your code ships to production and your architecture choices matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the architecture and development of core backend modules — ensuring stability under high concurrency, large data volumes, and low-latency requirements

  • Identify and close technical gaps that product specs don’t cover — push features toward full end-to-end completeness

  • Continuously improve code quality, system architecture, and engineering efficiency

  • Contribute to technical decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices

What We’re Looking For

  • BS or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 3+ years of backend development experience with hands-on distributed systems design

  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python, Rust, etc.) with solid CS fundamentals

  • Deep understanding of high concurrency, high availability, and distributed consistency — with real production experience

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, high-quality code

  • Strong collaboration skills — comfortable working across product, frontend, and infrastructure teams

Bonus Points

  • Full-stack capabilities — can independently handle frontend-backend integration

  • Experience with AI Agent, AI Infra, or ML Platform development

  • Core contributions to open-source projects

  • Experience building a backend system from scratch and scaling it to production
